Important travel advice

SAFE ROUTES to AVOID SYMONDS YAT

Your sat-nav will likely guide you along the most direct route, which often involves narrow single tracks, steep inclines, and potentially risky terrain, when leaving the main roads, particularly challenging for touring vehicles.

Our advice is ** AVOID ** the route via Symonds Yat Rock over Huntsham bridge B4432, it has a 1:5 Gradient incline and is a very narrow single track road, unsuitable for wide vehicles, RV’s, Motorhomes and extremely difficult for those towing caravans.

Vehicles over 7.5 ton are prohibited on this road.

Via the North, M5/M50 and Gloucester, merge onto the A40 toward Monmouth, to the bridge, and then take the Forest of Dean & Coleford A4136 exit at the lights onto Staunton Road.  Continue for 5 miles > Turn left onto Grove Road > ½ mile turn left onto Broom Hill > Continue straight over onto Bracelands Drive > go past the Forest Holidays reception and continue down Bracelands Drive to the end and the entrance to the campsite is on your right.

Via the M4/M48 over the Severn Bridge into Chepstow, then following the A48 for 2 miles. Turn left onto the B4228 following signs to Coleford.  Go straight across the main Coleford traffic lights and up the hill to a right hand turn into "The Gorse - signposted Ross-On-Wye and Berry Hill". A staggered cross road - go straight over at the crossroads onto Grove Road, follow for approximately ½ mile then turn left onto Bracelands Drive > go past the Forest Holidays reception and continue down Bracelands Drive to the end and the entrance to the campsite is on your right.
