See below for just a small selection of up and coming events near by and whats on at Bracelands over the next few months, and as we're open all year there's always plenty to do
Bracelands Campsite are super excited to host Forage Box on various dates throughout the year with their outstanding “Introduction to Foraging Workshops”
The workshop includes identifying, picking, and tasting a range of wild species that you will find on the day, and lots of sample food and drink items for everyone to get stuck into!
The focus with all of our workshops is on the 4 'F's of Foraging: Fungi, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage.
Here is what you can expect from your foraging workshop:
A circular walking route taking in different growing environments around the site within the wooded boundaries of Bracelands Campsite, nestled within Sherwood Forest. Expect a route of around 1-2km predominantly on footpaths.
A closer look at edible wild species and any poisonous lookalikes by a professional forager.
A chance to immerse yourself in a soul-nourishing activity, reconnecting with nature and discovering new flavours. Small tasters of wild food, drink and preserves - this includes nibbles of freshly picked items straight from the hedgerow. This session will include a wild snack made in advance by our passionate tutor! Whatever you get to try on the day, you will leave fizzing with inspiration!
Further information, meeting points and, tickets can be found by clicking on the Foraging buttons below.
Pre-booking this popular activity is essential as SPACES ARE LIMITED and should be booked in advance. Non Campers and local residents are also encouraged to book tickets, and if parking on site a £5 per car fee will apply paid to the campsite on arrival.

Escape into the heart of nature on an evening wildlife and immerse yourself in the symphony of the natural world, listening for the delicate chirps of birds and the high-pitched echoes of bats as they flit through the trees.
Ed will lead you along the trails, revealing the secrets of the nocturnal creatures that call this forest home. With the aid of a bat detector, you'll be able to decipher the ultrasonic calls of these elusive mammals, providing a glimpse into their hidden world. As the light fades we will keep our eyes peeled for the fleeting forms of shy fallow deer, their silhouettes barely discernible against the dusky backdrop. With a little luck, you may even catch a glimpse of a wild boar, or hear its grunts, adding a touch of excitement to the evening.
